The Wilderness 2012 Mentored Youth Hunt
Join us on our second annual Mentored Youth Hunt April 6 & 7 2012.
Arrival will be on the afternoon of the 6th, a meal will be provided at approximately 6:30 PM followed by a program designed for the youth hunters, to expand their knowledge of the outdoors.
On Saturday the 7th, after a hearty country breakfast, we will head to the woods to make the young hunters dreams of harvesting an animal come true.
Details:
Youth hunter will receive free lodging
Free evening meal
Free evening program
Mentor pays only $25.00 to cover lodging/meals/grounds fee
This is a great opportunity for mentors and young hunters to enjoy fellowship and the camaraderie of hunting camp.

Andy,
I would like to thank you for giving my son Devin the opportunity to take his first Ram at your lodge. He had a great time and he is still talking about it, he recently went to the doctor and he had to show her all of his pictures and tell the story. He did the same thing at school and wakes up every morning telling me he is still so excited that he got to shoot a Ram. He took a beautiful full curl Corsican with his crossbow and The Wilderness helped make a little boy’s dream of a successful first hunt come true. I have enclosed some pictures, take notice to his large smile. My dad said the look on his face after he made his shot will be something he will never forget. Being blessed with the ability to take a nice ram like this and giving him the memory to last a lifetime is truly priceless. Our guide Kevin was wonderful and he explained to Devin that this ram lived his whole life and grew his horns just for him on that very day. The food in the lodge was great, and as always we were treated with kindness and respect. I pray that the Lord would continue to bless your business so guys like us can continue to afford and enjoy great hunting, great food and fellowship.

Another great time last weekend at The Wilderness. Had 2 bow hunts with CJ as my guide, and he got it done for me as always. Thanks to Kevin, Adam and Edward for making the stay so much fun. Carol, the food was awesome as always.

Our 2011 Mentored Youth Hunt was a great success. We had a wonderful time with all of our young hunters and their mentors who came to spend the two days with us. A great dinner was served Friday night follwed by an educational quiz about whitetail deer and each young hunter getting to take home their own set of rattling antlers.
We have plans in the works already to expand our 2012 Mentored Youth Hunt with even more offerings and great family fellowship. Check back for more details as we solidify a date and make final arrangements.
Below are some of the shots from the field showing our young hunters and their special trophies. Each hunter did an outstanding job in harvesting their animal and every mentor and guide was blessed with sharing the experience and passing along their knowledge. The excitement in these kids was infectious and we appreciate having been able to facilitate that. Thanks again hunters and mentoring adults, your part of The Wilderness family of friends!
