06/20/2010.
Andy, Adam, Rex
I just wanted to share with you the final product of my very first deer, and deer hunt, at The Wilderness in December of last year. The picture I have attached is the 18 point, 235 pound big boy. I was able to bring the mount home on Friday of last week. Tony and I are going to take him to the WV DNR and get him officially scored. Picking up the deer gave me the opportunity to relive the wonderful experience I had on my first deer hunt ever. I had forgotten how big he really was until I picked him up again and Tony put him on the wall.
Tony's deer mount is just about done and he will pick it up within the next week or two. That buck is another beautiful large deer with very dark chocolate antlers. We will also take his to be officially scored by the WV DNR.
We really enjoyed our hunt last year and are looking forward to having that same experience this year. I believe Tony and I are going to break it up and not both hunt the same day. So Rex better be ready!!!!!!! Thanks again to all for such a wonderful experience and we can not wait to come back.
Best Wishes and God Bless to all.

June 12th and the last of our planned Jamborees for the summer. We would like to thank the 29 hunters who participated in a great event, not only today, but during all of our Jamborees this year. We appreciate when we can share a day in the field with safe, professional and skilled bowhunters and this was just that.
We were blessed with five Jamborees over the last three months that went off without a hicth. We are pleased to offer our hunters a 100% ratio of animals to hunters on our Jamborees, where others are generally 70% as a rule. That means that there are enough animals for ALL of our hunters to harvest, not 30% leaving empty handed but still paying the price of the hunt.
We had many excellent Rams and Goats that were taken, as well as huge Carolina Hogs. We strive to give our customers quality animals as you can see in the photos.
PS: All of our hunters filled their tags, were pleased with their trophies, we removed the animals and had them skun and quartered by 11:30 AM. Thank you Guides and Butchershop, we don't know of anywhere that has been done before!

May 22nd was another great day at The Wilderness with a successful Ram and Carolina Hog jamboree. We would like to thank the hunters who joined us and look forward to more days in the field together.
The next Ram and Carolina Hog jamboree will be June 12th, 2010 and there are only five slots left available, so if you are planning to attend contact the lodge to reserve your spot.
If you can't make the jamboree, remember that you can book a one on one hunt any other day (except Sundays) for a slightly higher fee, as we are open year round and no hunting license is required. Check our upcoming events area for details on future jamborees.

A Message To Our Valued Customers.
The Wilderness would like to thank the 49 hunters who braved the wet snow and cold temperaures Dec. 19th, 2009 for the Deer Jamboree. It called for 7 to 10 inches of snow but when evening came there was 14 inches of snow and everyone had a blast.
I would like to thank each of the hunters for likely helping us set a record of harvesting over 100 deer in one day with archery equipment. I know of no other ranch in the country that could have lodged, fed, hunted, and skinned over 100 deer in a single day. There were a total of 23 bucks and 79 does harvested.
Many of you ask when next years dates were. So here are the 2010 dates for the deer jamboree. We are having two of them. The first is Dec. 18th, 2010 and the second one is Jan 8th, 2011. As all of our hunts hunters who book first have preference of lodging, our loyal hunters who booked for 2009 will have first choice of either date.
We thank each and every one of you for choosing to hunt at the Wilderness.
God blessings and prosperity to each of you in 2010
