The Wilderness is located in Bedford County in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. We are just 15 miles southwest of Breezewood, PA.

The Wilderness Directions
We are located between Harrisburg and Pittsburgh PA., South of the PA. Turnpike & Rt 30, Everett.
If you have any questins, Please contact us at the lodge/office.
If using a GPS unit, you can use these coordinates to program your route. Be sure to inquire as to which lodge you will be traveling to. The Elk Lick Lodge is the most common destination.
If your GPS does not allow you to enter coordinates, or does not register the coordinates below, use the intersection of Frame Church Road and Elk Lick Road (City: Everett, Bedford County, PA) as a destination and it will bring you right to the area. Follow the hardtop road to the sign along the fence and take the gravel road to the lodge.

From the South East - Virginia, Carolinas (4-8 Hours)
Take west side of Washington belt way to Rt. 270, go West to Rt. 70 West to Breezwood PA.
At Breezwood exit make Left at light, onto Rt. 30 West to Everett (7 miles)
At the yellow blinking light, exit Left onto Everett business Rt. 30.
Go into Everett, continue through both lights and past the Everett Foodliner Market on the left.
After 200 yards, make a left and cross the metal bridge.
*The road will make a "Y" after the bridge, turn right onto Black Valley Road.
Stay on Black Valley Road for approximately 7 miles.
Turn left onto Frame Church Road. It is at a kind of "Y " in the road again.
After approximately 1 mile you will start to see chain link fence on the right.
Follow the fence until you come to our sign and entry way. Proceed down the lane to the lodge*
Note: As a point of reference. there is a small white church with a green roof on the left 1/2 mile before Frame Church Road. Do not turn there. Frame Church Road is marked ½ mile further.

From the East: Philadelphia, New Jersey (3-6 Hours)
Take the PA turnpike to the Breezwood PA exit, take Rt.30 west to Everett (7 miles)
At the yellow blinking light, exit Left onto Everett business Rt. 30.
Go into Everett, continue through both lights and past the Everett Foodliner Market on the left.

From the West Pittsburgh or Ohio (2-6 Hours)
From the west take Rt 30 East to Everett, Make right on the Everett exit ramp.
Go ½ mile to a large intersection, turning right and crossing an iron bridge.
Note: If you pass the Everett Foodliner, you missed the turn for the bridge.
*The road will make a "Y" after the bridge, turn right onto Black Valley Road.

From the South West - Cumberland Md., West Virginia (1-6 Hours)
Take Rt. 220 North to Bedford, then Rt.30 East to the Everett exit ramp.

Take Rt.81 to Carlisle PA, get on the PA Turnpike at exit #16 and go West to the Breezewood PA. exit.
