The Wilderness 2012 Special Whitetail Hunt
The Wilderness is a Christian faith based hunting ranch. Here we do our best to put our faith into action. To do this we put you the hunter first. It is our joy to serve you. This hunt is not like any whitetail hunt in the country. Our focus is Big Bucks at a reasonable price. The bottom line is we do not want to sell you a hunt, our desire is to give you an affordable hunting experience harvesting the buck you are looking for and not the buck you will settle for. That is the reason we only ask for a $500 deposit.
The $500 deposit covers three days of hunting, four nights lodging and all meals and guiding. If, you do not harvest a buck, you owe nothing more. We want you to be satisfied with your hunt and buck harvested before you make full payment. All the hunting camps I've ever gone to, the final payment came before the hunt, but at The Wilderness your satisfaction comes before your check book. All it takes is $500 to book your hunt and the final payment listed below depends on you harvesting a buck the week you hunted.
The hunt dates and trophy fees are:
Presidential/ Platinum: Sept. 12-16, Price $10,500. (If under 210” BC $8,500)
Gold: Sept. 19-23, Price $8,500 (If under 205” $7,500)
Silver: Sept. 26 – 30, Price $7,000 (If under 200” $6,000)
Bronze: Oct. 3-7, Price $5,500 (If under 195” $4,500)

Any hunter who brings a new hunter on the Special Whitetail hunt will receive a $500.00 comp off of their hunt, when both hunters successfully harvest their deer. The $500.00 comp is our way of saying thank you for bringing a new hunter to experience The Wilderness.
This is a four night/three day hunt. Hunters arrive on Wednesday, allowing time for fellowship with other hunters and guides, shoot rifles, have dinner, relax and unwind. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are hunting days. Meals beginning on Wednesday and conclude on Sunday morning with a continental breakfast. There are 8x8 tree stands, blinds and ladder stands throughout the ranch. Experienced guides will skin, quarter and cape and prepare your harvest for your taxidermist or ours. Transportation can also be provided from local airports at Bedford and Altoona.
In 2011 the smallest buck we harvested during our Special Whitetail Hunts was a 190” class buck. What a great year for our hunters! We have raised several 300”+ bucks, so we are excited to see what grows in our hunting area this summer.

Note: Most of our bucks are high and wide framed, long tined typical bucks.
